Pet Rehoming Suggestions
Pet Rehoming Suggestions
Thank you for caring about your pet. Pet Friends of Duplin County does not find homes for animals. If you have a pet that you can no longer keep we recommend the following:
Do an internet search for rescues for your particular animal.
Post the animal on Facebook. Remember to require a re-homing fee and some credentials to prevent an animal being used for breeding or dog fighting bait.
Contact Duplin County Animal Services (DCAS) to request surrender of your pet(s). DCAS must hold animals at least 72 hours. DCAS actively seeks adopters and rescuers for pets that pass temperament and health testing, posting on their Facebook page and PETANGO, and working with folks from Friends and Volunteers of the Duplin County NC Animal Shelter Facebook page to locate rescues and adopters.
You may also send an inquiry to the Friends and Volunteers of the Duplin County NC Animal Shelter Facebook page to see if they have any suggestions.
