Rabies Clinics

Pet Friends has restarted it’s Free/Low-Cost Rabies Clinics. We are very excited to offer this service once again to the citizens of Duplin County in partnership with local vets - Dr. Blanton (Wallace Animal Hospital) and Dr. Hunter (Warsaw Animal Hospital).

We had two clinics in 2019, one in 2020, one in 2021, two in 2022, and plan to have two clinics per year in the future. Signage, flyers, and adverts will be posted two weeks prior to clinic. *Also, see our Events page.

At these clinics, Rabies shots will be free of charge for the first 5 dogs, cats, & ferrets owned by each Duplin County resident. Additional pets are $5.00 each. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Cats and ferrets must be in crates or carriers. For clarification on details please call or text Mary at 910-271-4709.

Rabies shots are also available at the Duplin County Animal Services Shelter at 117 Middleton Cemetery Lane, Kenansville for $10 per animal during regular hours:  Monday - Friday; Noon until 5:00 pm. Please contact them at (910) 296-2159 for more information.

DCAS has the following rabies clinics scheduled, as well:

ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH. CATS MUST BE IN A CARRIER.

It's very important for your animals to keep their rabies current. North Carolina law requires everyog, cat and ferret 4 months or older to be current on their rabies vaccine. Rabies has been found in wild and domestic animals in Duplin County each year.
